Life at Ellis

Athletics

ALL GIRLS. ALL IN.

At Ellis, being ALL IN means showing up fully — with curiosity, courage, and a willingness to grow.

On the field, court, track, and in the pool, girls have the space to take risks, try something new, lead from wherever they are, and discover what they’re capable of. They learn to trust themselves, support their teammates, and embrace both the challenges and joys that come with being part of a team.

Because when every girl has the opportunity to be ALL IN, she doesn’t just become a stronger athlete. She becomes a more confident, courageous, and capable person.

Why All-Girls Athletics?

A Place Where She Can Take Up Space

At Ellis, girls are at the center of the experience — including athletics. She can be the captain. Take the shot. Call the play. Try the new sport. Ask for feedback. Make the mistake. Recover. Try again.

There’s no waiting for someone else to step forward and no single definition of what an athlete looks like. Our all-girls environment gives every student the opportunity to participate, contribute, and lead while developing confidence in her abilities and in herself.

This is what ALL GIRLS. ALL IN. looks like in action.

Find Your Team. Find Your Strength.

There’s no one way to be an Ellis athlete — and there’s no single path to finding a sport you love.

Whether your daughter is discovering athletics for the first time, developing a passion for a particular sport, or competing at the varsity level, Ellis gives her opportunities to explore, grow, and challenge herself.

Our athletic offerings span the school year, giving students opportunities to try something new, build skills, and connect with teammates across divisions.

More Than a Game

At Ellis, athletics are part of an education designed specifically around the development of girls.

Through practices, competition, and teamwork, students build skills that extend far beyond the playing field: resilience, perseverance, communication, collaboration, confidence, and leadership. In Middle School, athletics emphasize exploration, skill development, teamwork, and physical fitness while helping students build confidence and a love of sport.

As students move into Upper School, they have opportunities to deepen their skills, challenge themselves competitively, and take greater ownership of their athletic experience. The goal isn't simply to create better athletes. It's to help girls become confident, self-aware young women who know how to contribute, lead, adapt, and keep going.
