Who is asked for a gift?

Everyone in the Ellis community—trustees, alumnae, current families, grandparents, faculty, staff, and parents of alumnae—is
asked to make an unrestricted gift each year by June 30. High participation shows confidence in our mission and impacts gifts from foundations, which consider community participation rates before donating.
How much should I donate?

We ask that you consider a gift that is right for you and your family. Every donation is valued and appreciated.
Can I specify how my donation is used?

Yes, you can designate your gift to specific programs, scholarships, or endowments, ensuring your donation aligns with your philanthropic goals and priorities.

Ellis has a large endowment. Why do they need my gift?

The School's endowment serves as its long-term savings and is managed to ensure its availability for future generations. Almost 20% of the annual budget comes from endowment income, much of which is restricted for specific purposes.
Can I make a monthly commitment?

Yes, many donors find it convenient to donate monthly through automatically withdrawn payments. Select “make this a monthly recurring donation” when making a gift online or on your physical donation remit form. You can modify or cancel your monthly donation at any time by contacting the Advancement Office.
What tax benefits can I receive from my donation?

Donations to The Ellis School may qualify for various tax benefits, including federal charitable deductions, state tax credits, and capital gains tax savings. Consult your tax advisor for specific information regarding your situation.
