Artist's Statement: I came to Ellis in 10th grade, and was immediately intrigued by the art program, especially photography. Before I came to Ellis I liked to take pictures as a side hobby, but little did I know that there were specific ways of taking photos and how many different forms and categories of art there are.
I think that my pieces tend to reflect how my mental health is at the time. My pieces tend to be happier and have a more positive vibe to them when I'm not struggling as much, but are darker and more simple when I'm going through a rough patch. I think that my style is also very dependent on my mood. I'm especially proud of my Impressionism pieces. I am also proud of how far I've come with my photography and the creative thoughts that I have come up with while being in this class. I hope to keep taking photos as a hobby after I graduate from Ellis. I will definitely miss the creative outlet that this class provides.
