Ellis Students Inducted Into Cum Laude Society

The Ellis School inducted six outstanding student scholars into the Cum Laude Society on Wednesday, April 19. Courtney Dionne Baldwin, Class of 2017; Matilda "Tillie" Carolyn LaBranche, Class of 2017; Taylor Robinson, Class of 2017; Madeleine Pei-Chen “Pei Pei” Barth-Wu, Class of 2018; Leela Sofia Canuelas-Puri, Class of 2018; and Natasha Alexandra Kossovsky, Class of 2018 were recognized and celebrated for their academic excellence and achievements at the assembly.
This honor of great distinction commends students for their superior scholastic performance, rigorous course of study, and commitment to the highest ideals of scholarship. Lauren Laschon, Head of the Upper School, announced the names of the new inductees as 2016 Cum Laude scholars Erika Amemiya, Class of 2017; Katelin Brandegee, Class of 2017; and Pallavi Muluk, Class of 2017 presented each honoree with their Cum Laude pin.

The Ellis School Chapter of the Cum Laude Society was admitted for membership in 1961. Founded in 1906, the Cum Laude Society is modeled after the college honors society, Phi Beta Kappa, and includes 382 chapters primarily in independent schools.
