For Alumnae

A Network of Support

As an Ellis graduate, you are part of an extraordinary network and sisterhood that lasts a lifetime. We encourage you to be an active member of the alumnae community and connect with fellow graduates across class years, careers, cities, and countries.
Whether navigating a career change, exploring higher education opportunities, or simply wanting to reconnect with former classmates, Ellis offers a variety of opportunities to meet, communicate, or interact with fellow Ellis alumnae.

Oh Ellis School, Dear Ellis

A time to show your appreciation to your alma mater, Reunion Weekend celebrates important class milestones and lifelong friendships while strengthening ties among the passionate, fierce, and kind women we are lucky enough to call alumnae.

Save the Date

Ellis Reunion Weekend 2021 will be held October 7–9, 2021.

Ellis After Fifth Ave.

While Ellis alumnae choose many paths after they leave our Fifth Avenue campus, they continue to share many common ties: a fierce commitment to their careers, a lifelong love of learning, and a desire to uplift and support fellow women. With honed intellects and broad experience, our alumnae use their power to create space for themselves and others—and now they’re widening their reach in our new webinar series, “Ellis After Fifth Ave.”
Designed to celebrate and highlight the diverse experiences and expertise of our alumnae community, “Ellis After Fifth Ave.” will have rotating alumna hosts discussing topics ranging from baking to negotiating. These masterclass sessions will offer a chance for those within the Ellis community and those outside of it to learn new skills and find common ground with each other in a welcoming, inclusive space.

At Ellis, we know it’s not just our students who are lifelong learners—it’s our community members, too. The Ellis After Fifth Ave. series is open to all adults, not just our graduates. So invite your friends, share on your social feeds, and save the date!

Telling Your Own Story

Storytelling is a part of everyone’s life. From performances to everyday conversation to even posting on social media, we all tell our stories to each other and the world. Join us on March 25 from 7:00–8:30 p.m for a workshop focused on live storytelling with writer, storyteller, and podcaster Jamie Beth COHEN ’93. This workshop will cover the “why” and “how” of storytelling by looking at video performances, going over the do’s and don'ts, and, if you're comfortable, sharing your own story with fellow Ellisians.

Jamie Beth has been featured in storytelling events across Pennsylvania and in New York City. Jamie has experience working with both novice and advanced storytellers and welcomes anyone with any kind of experience to this workshop.

Taking the Creative Road

If you look where form meets function meets fun, that’s where you’ll find the designs of Colleen DAILY Simonds ’95. An accomplished interior designer, Colleen is a master of making spaces colorful and cheerful with an air of sophistication. But it’s worth noting that her creative career path wasn’t perfectly curated from the beginning. Prior to moving back to her hometown, Colleen worked as a fashion buyer for major retailers in New York City before landing on interior design. Today, she balances life as a full-time mom and entrepreneur in Pittsburgh.

If you’re thinking about switching career paths to something in the creative field, hoping to nail your work-life balance as an entrepreneur, or just interested in interior design, join us on April 21 from 6:30–8:00 p.m. for an open Q&A with Colleen about all things interior design, creative, and career.
