Presenting The Ellis School’s Centennial Laureates
As part of The Ellis School’s Centennial Celebration, this dynamic and diverse group of women have been chosen to represent the School’s ten decades. The Ellis Centennial Laureates are a group of highly accomplished alumnae whose creative and intellectual achievements span fifty years. The Laureates’ tenacity, vision, and genius were cultivated at Ellis and we celebrate them as individuals, history-makers, and alumnae.
Each Laureate is an inspiration and a history maker. Each woman is a groundbreaker and leader in many fields: politics, the arts, science, medicine, research, nonprofit, business, and in their communities. They have led responsibly and courageously.
A committee comprised of Ellis trustees, alumnae, parents, and staff convened last spring to review prospective Laureates. While narrowing down the list proved difficult, these thirteen women truly represent “girl power.” Their curiosity, tenacity, and creativity were supported during their years at Ellis by the faculty, administration, parents, mentors, and friends. As Ellis alumnae, they have taken on the world.
We are honored to have these Laureates as role models and inspirations to all of our current students. As we celebrate the 100 years that has brought us this far, we also stand on the brink of the next 100 years when current Ellis students will become future leaders and Laureates. We look forward to continuing this tradition and to celebrating the achievements of Ellis Laureates for many years to come.
