Ellis students make art to fight hunger

Earlier this month, Ellis clay students gathered to fight hunger. Guided by teacher Ceil Sturdevant, they threw more than 60 clay bowls that will be donated to the Empty Bowls dinner, a community meal that fights hunger. Beginning students improved their skills by working side by side on the the wheel with advanced clay students.  Empty Bowls 2015 takes place March 29 at Rodef Shalom Congregation and benefits Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and Just Harvest.
Tickets to the 20th annual Empty Bowls dinner are $22 and include soup, bread, and a handmade bowl. Tickets are available online here http://www.justharvest.org/event/empty-bowls-2015/.
