Wood Fire Club to Touchstone Arts Center in Farmington PA

Senior Clay students will stoke a noborigama kiln, using wood as the only fuel for an 18-hour firing. The girls will work in shifts right through the night and enjoyed seeing the sky change color at dawn. After all their hard work, the 11 seniors will explore beautifully glazed surfaces including tenmoku and celedon, which are traditional Japanese glazes requiring very high temperatures to melt the glazes.

It will be a true celebration of fire and friendship and memories of art and Ellis.

(This is a student run event and celebration. The senior clay students raised $2000.00 by selling homemade tiles and Free Market/Fair Trade New Hope Coffee.)
