Thank you for your interest in Summer Camp at The Ellis School. After much careful deliberation, and with much sadness, we have decided to cancel our summer 2020 programs in light of the current state of government restrictions and health concerns. We apologize for any inconvenience and can't wait to see our campers again next summer!

  • Camp Rules

Summer Camp at The Ellis School strives to empower and inspire all students through learning and having fun in a structured and safe environment.

Behaviors that are not tolerated at The Ellis School:
    • Hitting, shoving, pushing, or physical violence
    • Verbal abuse, offensive language, or bullying
    • Lying or manipulating the truth
    • Stealing or taking things without asking
    • Destroying property
    • Possessing, using, or distributing drugs or alcohol
    • Bringing weapons of any kind to camp
    • Ignoring counselor or staff directions
In extreme cases, to ensure the safety of the camp community, the camp director reserves the right to expel campers at their own discretion. In this situation, refunds will not be provided.

Please respect our hard-working staff by ensuring timeliness at drop-off and pick-up.

For the safety of all children, parents and guardians are not permitted to visit campers during the camp day. If an emergency arises and you must contact your child(ren), please contact our camp office so we can immediately assist you.
  • Health and Medication Policies

Please bring your child's labeled medications on the first day of camp with specific times and doses. Any child that has not attended Ellis this year or a current student with a new prescription will need a note from their doctor so that the medication can be administered by the nurse.

Only parents and guardians may bring medications to camp. Our nurse can only accept labeled prescription medicines in original containers and will distribute during the day as required. For the well-being of all children, please do not use camp as a time to transition a camper off of medications.

Keep children home from camp when they are ill and/or pick them up if they become sick at camp. Campers must be 24 hours fever-free before they can return to camp (below 100 degrees Fahrenheit).
  • After-care and Arrival/Dismissal Policies

After-care is available from 3:00–6:00 p.m. during the elementary school camp programs in June only. Parents can pre-register for after-care online within the Ellis Summer Camp Registration Form.

Drop-ins for after-care are also available. Drop-ins will be billed separately for $25 per day.

After-care families arriving after 6:00 p.m. will incur an additional $25 late pick-up fee. Continued late pick-ups may also result in additional fees.

Regular camp arrival time is from 8:30–9:15 a.m., and regular dismissal time is from 3:00–3:15 p.m.

Note: Campers will not be admitted before 8:30 a.m.
f your camper is a current Ellis student, we have her medical and immunization information on file. If any changes have arisen this year, please be sure to update your daughter’s Magnus profile before camp.

If your camper is not a current Ellis student, you will need to complete the Summer Camp Health Form, which can be filled out online within the Ellis Summer Camp Registration Form. You will also need to provide a copy of your camper’s immunization form to our school nurse, Lynette MacLeod. Copies of the immunization form can be emailed to Lynette at or mailed to the School: The Ellis School, Attn: Lynette MacLeod, 6425 Fifth Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15206.

Please note that we are prohibited by state law from allowing your camper to remain on campus without medical and immunization information.
