Art has always been an outlet for creativity. In 8th grade when we were given the opportunity to be a part of a clay class it was the art that I really liked and I knew that I wanted to continue doing it.
Using clay, I am able to think of something in my mind and create it 3-dimensionally. I am able to have my point of view come through and have people look at it and see how I thought of it, which is something that I really like. When I make something, I use my life experiences to give me inspiration. I did a heritage piece that focused on my family's African heritage. And my personal favorite is my teapot. It is inspired by my mom and I’s love of bright colors and flowers. Taking personal experiences have really helped me make personal and complex clay pieces.
