Artist's Statement: I find the clay studio to be one of the most relaxing environments at Ellis. No matter what kind of day I'm having, I can always destress there.
I love making pieces that connect to nature in some way, like I'm reshaping the clay into something it's familiar with. I also like to sculpt figures as a challenge for myself. This year, I wanted to make pieces that had some personal meaning, and that is represented in the pieces "Forgiving" and "Opossum Companion." I was really looking forward to the wood firing at Touchstone, a capstone to my nearly five years of clay. Unfortunately, that has been postponed until possibly next year. I'm excited to share my work with you!!
