Leadership Roles in the Upper School

With the school year well underway, students are settling into old routines and new leadership roles. Ellis Athletic Association leaders organized a fun and creative Spirit Week, culminating in our yearly “Color Wars” competition. Student Council officers and representatives held a successful Homecoming dance with record attendance and have already begun planning for semi-formal. Class officers have been elected and are hard at work organizing fundraisers and events. Our Upper School Clubs are up and running, with students at the helm of club leadership. Additionally, a number of other students have represented the Upper School on Q&A panels for visitors on Heritage Day and during our 8th grade step-up visits.
When I see our Ellis leaders at work, I am always impressed with their confidence and sense of purpose. They dedicate themselves to their leadership roles and set great examples for our younger students. As the seniors near the end of their college application process, it is exciting to think of the ways in which they will use the skills they have developed here at Ellis to make an impact on their university campuses. I feel grateful to be working closely with our Upper School leaders in my role as Dean of Students, and I look forward to seeing all the amazing things they will accomplish throughout the remainder of the school year. Kudos to all of our Ellis leaders, and thank you for all you do to benefit our community!
