4th Grade Launches Maker Mania
Building, inventing, imagining. According to 4th grade teacher Patrick Fagersten, those qualities are at the very heart of Maker Mania. This year-long program is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in problem solving and working in teams.
Incorporating elements from robotics, computer programing and geometry, the students create multi-faceted digital movies, which will then be on display at the Maker Fair next spring.
“The kids are excited about this,” Patrick says. “They really develop a strong sense of ownership about their projects and are eager to share them with parents and alumna as our Lower School Capstone experience.”
