  • Choral Music Instructor

    The Ellis School is seeking an interim part-time Choral Music Instructor beginning immediately. Responsibilities include directing two Middle School choirs, the Upper School Glee Club, teaching electives in music and theatre in both divisions, and directing musical components of theater productions. There is a significant after-school component to this position.

    Qualifications:
    A bachelor’s degree is required and a master’s degree is preferred. The ideal candidate will demonstrate skill in choral direction and vocal coaching and will have a minimum of 3-5 years experience leading choral ensembles and directing. An inventive and collaborative approach to the Performing Arts is a must. Ideal candidates will also possess a commitment to using innovative pedagogical practices and technology to enhance instruction, as well as enthusiasm about all-girls education. In addition, preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated enthusiasm for working with and teaching adolescents, a strong sense of school community and teamwork, and excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.   • Extended Day Staff, Part-Time

    The Ellis School is seeking an energetic, responsible individual, who loves working with children, to fill a part-time position in our After School Program. A willingness to work as part of a team providing a safe and fun environment for elementary school girls Pre-K through Fourth grade is required.  Experience working with children is preferred.
     
    The position runs September through June. Regular hours are from 2:00-6:00 p.m. daily; however, full days may be required as pre-determined throughout the school year.
     
    Primary Responsibilities:
    • To take attendance of students upon arrival and take charge of student dismissal
    • To supervise active play in the gym and playground
    • To help prepare snacks
    • To supervise activities in the computer lab
    • To support Extended Day staff working in Middle and Upper Schools
    • To know and follow rules of school and remind students to do the same when in attendance at Extended Day Program
    • To be energetic and interact with students
    • To work cooperatively with colleagues
    • To show up consistently and on time for duties
    • Occasional lifting may be required

  • Athletics Coaches

    The Ellis School seeks experienced candidates for coaching positions. These positions will be responsible for developing the athletic program and players under the direction of the Athletic Director.
     
    The Successful Candidate Will Possess:
    • Experience teaching applicable skills and strategies that apply to the skill level of the players.
    • Proven ability to exemplify the highest standard of leadership, sportsmanship, and respect.
    • Ability to attend all team practices and competitions.
    • Knowledge of appropriate safety measures to ensure the well being of players.
    • CPR/First Aid certification (preferred)
