Varsity Basketball #4 Seed in WPIAL Playoffs
The Ellis Varsity Basketball team earned the No. 4 seed for the girls Class A tournament, according to playoff pairings released by WPIAL on Tuesday, February 9. The Tigers will play their first playoff game against Leechburg on Saturday, February 13, 3:00 p.m. at Gateway Senior High School in Monroeville. The other top seeds in Class A are: No. 1 Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic, No. 2 Vincentian Academy, and No. 3 Quigley.
"This is a history making year for the girls basketball team," said Ellis Athletic Director Shayla Scott. "I feel this year is as good as any for the girls, to not only advance to the next round of playoffs, but also to compete for the WPIAL and state championship. I am looking forward to supporting the team the whole way through, and I know the Ellis community will rally behind our Tigers!"
Tickets for the game are available for purchase Wednesday, February 10 - Thursday, February 11 in the Athletic Office, and Friday, February 12 in the Upper School office. Student tickets will not be available at the door on game day.
