Ellis junior Christina Ambrosino and seniors Rachel Cooper and Ashna Shome triumphed over five other regional high schools to win the team award at the 2014 PIttsburgh Brain Bee competition. Hosted annually by the University of Pittsburgh's Center for Neuroscience, the Pittsburgh Brain Bee tests high school students' knowledge and understanding of the human brain.
Ellis student Rachel Cooper was the extremely close runner-up of the individual competition and finished with the second highest individual score. The individual competition was so close that the winner was decided by a lightning round.
Congratulations to these brilliant girls and to the Center for Neuroscience for hosting this event.
