Ellis graduate Lani Lazzari '12 scores big on Shark Tank

Congratulations to Ellis graduate Lani Lazzari '12 for her incredible March 29, 2013 performance on Shark Tank, the national ABC reality show where entrepreneurs pitch business ideas to a panel of real investors. Lani's appearance on Shark Tank netted her Simple Sugars line of all-natural skin-care products major publicity and a $100,000 investment from entrepreneur Mark Cuban, who also took a 33% stake in the business.
The panel of Shark Tank investors had high praise for Lani's ideas, business acumen, and presentation skills, calling her "the best pitcher we've ever had." Lani is also the youngest entrepreneur to appear on the show.

Her appearance on Shark Tank is already paying off: in addition to the investments by Cuban, Simple Sugars has received approximately 11,000 orders since Friday night!

Lani started Simple Sugars when she was just 11 years old and a student at Ellis. She graduated from Ellis in 2012.  Learn more about Lani, her company, and the show from this news story that aired on WTAE-TV last week.
