Ellis Unveils New Strategic Plan

The Ellis School is thrilled to unveil our new strategic plan. “Ellis on the Move” will guide the School’s continued evolution with a focus on being a leader in developing the remarkable qualities that not only prepare girls for college, but that transcend academic excellence and shape truly remarkable women.
“When we began our strategic visioning process in Spring 2018, our goal was to listen to the voices of our many constituents—students, parents, faculty, staff, alumnae, friends of the School—and to hear what they believed Ellis does particularly well, what opportunities we have for improvement, and, most importantly, in what ways can we continue to be a spectacular launching pad for girls and young women into today’s world,” shared Macon Finley, Head of School.

Over 18 months of listening, conversation, and study resulted in the dynamic new plan which includes new mission and vision statements, as well as five strategic priorities. The priorities include:
  • Enhancing and Enriching our Visionary Program
  • Recruiting and Retaining a Vibrant Student Body
  • Building an Exemplary School Climate
  • Supporting Facilities that Enhance our Program
  • Ensuring the Long-Term Financial Health of the School
For over 100 years, The Ellis School has maintained a fierce focus on being a place where girls grow and learn in all the best ways to prepare them to soar. This new plan, led by Ms. Finley and Michael Haggerty, Chair of the Board of Trustees, will continue that focus while guiding the School’s vision for the next five years.
