Ellis Students Perform Beehive
Did you catch Beehive? If not, you missed out on colorful sets and costumes, lively dance numbers, soulful singing, and an overall amazing show! The costumes complimented the show perfectly, capturing the shows essence and the 60s’ hottest styles while the set displayed the playful and bright feeling of the era.
Beehive is a musical set in the 1960s including some of the top hits written by the most influential women of the time period. These songs often confronted some of the most controversial and important topics of the decade. This vivacious show is a great representation of women’s impact on the 60s and how this led to empowerment in this generation. There was a wide range of musical stylings from the turn of the decade to the very end of Beatlemania; from Aretha Franklin to Lesley Gore; from Tina Turner to Janis Joplin.
