Ellis launches Middle School Tinker Squads

Calling all girls who love to tinker, invent, and play with gadgets. The Ellis School wants girls grades 5 to 8 to join our new all-girl Tinker Squad! This creative and exciting after school program is designed to help girls take on engineering and design challenges to make the world a better place. Meet other curious and creative girls and practice your tinkering skills for two hours a week.
Squads meet Monday and Wednesday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Active Classroom for Girls, located in the Upper School. Tinker Squads at Ellis begin on September 29 and end on December 6. Interested students may register online.

Ellis students are encouraged to come after athletics and 6th grade play practice. Squads are limited to 10 students and each girl gets her very own tinker tool kit. The Squad will meet at Ellis and compete in the December 6 Tinker Squad Competition. You may learn more about Tinker Squads at www.TinkerSquads.org.

Tinker Squads combine technology, art, and community engagement. Funded by a generous HIVE grant through The Sprout Fund, Tinker Squads are powered by the Learning Innovation Institute at The Ellis School.
