The holidays bring out the best in Ellis. In the weeks ahead, you'll see an abundance of creativity and enthusiasm for giving to others. As you plan your holidays and gift giving, consider The Guild's Alternative Gift Shop as a way to make gifts in honor of loved ones while benefiting organizations including Operation Safety Net and the Western PA Humane Society. Look for the Alternative Gift Shop at the November 30 Holiday Shop, sponsored by the Ellis Parents Association (EPA).
The Wood Firing Club is another great option. The Club sells fair trade coffee beans and original ceramic tiles to raise money for their annual firing and to support Building New Hope, an organization that supports development in Latin America, especially Nicaragua and El Salvador.
You can also support the School by purchasing Holiday Greens from the EPA. Order online and pick up your items November 30 at Holiday Shop. And, you can support our School through everyday fund raisers such as the Ellis Amazon affiliate program. Log into MyEllis and then follow the Amazon link. When you do, a portion of any purchase you make during that shopping trip benefits our School.
Programs like the Alternative Gift shop and the recent Color Me Mine fund raiser, which raised more than $800 for the yearbook, make me grateful to be part of such an inspired and generous community.
