Ellis Parent Association

The Ellis mission can be accomplished in a number of ways, and the quality of that achievement is greatly amplified with parental involvement. Every parent is automatically a member of the Ellis Parents Association (EPA) and can get involved in the School. There are opportunities for involvement to suit all schedules and talents.

EPA meetings bring together the entire Ellis adult community to hear timely speakers on topics relevant to our goals. A recent example was a presentation on "Girls and Concussions." Parents can attend and bring friends. Parents can volunteer to be homeroom parents at every grade level, or to usher at the Fine Arts Festival, or to prepare ethnic food for Heritage Day. They assist with fundraisers such as the gift wrap sale, the Holiday Shop, the Book Bazaar, and plant sales. Regardless of the time commitment that parents and guardians choose to make, they always meet other parents, get a chance to talk informally with teachers and administrators, and keep abreast of news at the School.

More than 80 parents are involved in administering and promoting the work of the EPA in various roles such as Executive Board member, Homeroom Parent, or Committee Chair. Countless other parents provide continuing support throughout the year. The EPA invites and welcomes every parent to be part of this community and to decide how they can best contribute and become involved.
