Lacrosse Players Earn WPIAL Honors

Two Ellis lacrosse players earned postseason honors in recognition of their excellence on the field this season. Kat Ference, Class of 2019, and Angie Scheuermann, Class of 2018, were awarded spots on the 2018 WPIAL All-Section team in honor of their hard work, commitment, leadership, and athleticism. In celebration of these accolades, Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach Sarah Magan shared her perspective on this year’s All-Section athletes.
Kat Ference, Class of 2019 – Class AA Section 1 All-Section
Junior Kat Ference set a standard for her teammates in regards to intensity, commitment, and competitiveness this year. With her attitude, accuracy, and work ethic, Kat contributes both offensively and defensively in every game and leads the team in goals and assists. Kat ended the 2018 season with 86 goals, 25 assists, and 66 draw controls.

Angie Scheuermann, Class of 2018 – Class AA All-Section
Senior goalkeeper Angie Scheuermann was a consistent force in the cage all year, ending her season with 158 total saves. A positive and encouraging teammate on and off the field, Angie’s poise, quickness, and mental toughness enabled her to come up with big saves during the team's toughest matchups.
