Ellis Skiers Compete at State Championships

Four Ellis students, Julia Freudenberg, Class of 2024; Grayson Honig, Class of 2023; Samantha Honig, Class of 2021; and Dania Stewart, Class of 2023, competed at the 2018 Pennsylvania Alpine Racing Association (PARA) State Skiing Championships in late February and early March. After receiving enough points in races throughout the ski season, the students qualified for the PARA Championships as part of the Western Pennsylvania Race Club (WRPC), a Seven Springs-based team.
Julia competed in Giant Slalom and Slalom events in the Under-12 category, Grayson and Dania competed in Giant Slalom and Slalom in the Under-14 category, and Samantha competed in Giant Slalom, Slalom, and Super G in the Under-16 category. Grayson’s impressive scores at the championships earned her a spot on the PARA state team, and she will go on to compete at the Piche's Invitational in the Slalom and Giant Slalom this weekend in Gunstock, New Hampshire.

Good luck Grayson and congratulations on a great season to all of our WRPC skiers!
