Ellis Student Wins First Place in Reading Program

Dionna “Didi” Bobo, Class of 2027, has won first place in the Pittsburgh Pirates Tales summer reading program. Didi surpassed her summer reading goals and explored her love of art and reading by drawing pictures to accompany her final writing prompt of the summer.
As a first place winner, Didi will celebrate her accomplishment at PNC Park in the 2018 season on Pirates Tales Day. During the visit, she will have the chance to meet and mingle with Pittsburgh Pirates stars at a special recognition reception.

Pirates Tales is a community outreach program led by the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Pirates to promote literacy skills in children ages 6 to 12 years old. Pirates Tales empowers kids to set reading goals throughout the summer and have fun at their local library.
