The passing of Henry L. Hillman on Friday, April 14, 2017, the patriarch of the well-known Pittsburgh family and husband of Ellis alumna Elsie Hilliard Hillman ‘43, represents a great loss to the city of Pittsburgh, and holds special significance for us at Ellis. The Hillman family has supported The Ellis School for many years. The Hillman Family Building, home of the Ellis Upper School, was dedicated on September 20, 2000 in tribute to three generations of Hillman women who attended Ellis.
The School is deeply grateful for the enduring legacy of Henry and Elsie Hillman, and for their support of all-girls education at Ellis. Our thoughts are with the Hillman family.
