Pallavi Muluk '17 chosen as National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist

Ellis senior, Pallavi Muluk, was chosen as a 2017 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist this past month. In order to qualify as a Semifinalist, Pallavi, along with about 1.6 million juniors from more than 22,000 high schools, had to take the 2015 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. She received one of the highest scores in Pennsylvania and joined the group of Semifinalists that represent less than one percent of high school seniors.
15,000 of the 16,000 Semifinalists will advance to the Finalist level by providing their academic record, participation in school and community activities, employment, honors and awards received, and leadership abilities. Pallavi will also write an essay and seek a recommendation from a high school official. From that point, Finalists will be told if they have received a National Merit Scholarship based upon their accomplishments and potential for success in college courses. Winners of the National Merit Scholarships will be announced in nationwide news releases between April and July.

Congratulations and good luck Pallavi!
