The Head of School Prize is presented to a senior who best exemplifies the school motto - Esse Quam Videri - to be rather than to seem.

The Benjamin R. Fisher Award was established to honor a senior who, like Mr. Fisher, has given outstanding service to Ellis.

The Augustus K. Oliver Cup is given each year by faculty vote to the senior who represents the highest ideals of scholarship, athletic participation, and citizenship.

The Dr. Victoria Bernardis Jordan Latin Award honors Dr. Jordan, who is retiring at the close of the 2015-16 school year after 18 years of service. Through her passion and dedication, Dr. Jordan has inspired Ellis graduates to continue to study the classics in college and beyond. Her legacy will continue because of the difference she has made in the lives of all of her students.

The Callomon Underclassman Award is given to an underclassman who, as exemplified by former Upper School Head Judith Callomon, shows potential for leadership in the school.

The Foster Art Award is presented annually to a junior art student chosen by the visual arts faculty who shows promise as an artist; who values the process of creating art; and who has the potential to excel in her craft.

The Virginia P. Stevenson Award, amed for a former chair of the Ellis History Department, is presented to a junior who conceives, investigates, and produces a history research paper that goes beyond others in thinking, content, and style.  Possible recipients are nominated by History Department faculty, and the award recipient is selected by an independent panel of readers.

Department prizes, as well as Athletics (Sportsmanship), honor a senior who has excelled in an area.  Recipients are selected by vote of members of each department.
