Deane Marchbein, M.D. ’68 to speak at Cum Laude ceremony

Deane Marchbein, M.D. ’68 will be the speaker at this year’s Cum Laude ceremony on April 20, 2016. Dr. Marchbein is currently the President of the United States Board of Directors for Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders. She began her association with Doctors Without Borders in 2006 as an anesthesiologist in the Ivory Coast.
Recently retired, after a long career in anesthesiology which included work at Lawrence General Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, she is planning to continue her work in the field with MSF.

The Ellis School became a member of the Cum Laude Society, a nationwide association, in 1961. The Society was founded in 1906 and is the high school equivalent of Phi Beta Kappa.
