The Introduction to Engineering Design class is starting their first major project: the design and construction of an artificial limb or adaptive device.  The challenge that the girls selected for themselves is to "help people without hands unlock doors that require a key". As one of the first steps in the design process the class immersed themselves in the situation and investigated how they would try to open a locked door with a key without using their hands.
