Shayla N. Scott named Ellis Athletic Director

Effective August 1, 2015, Shayla N. Scott will join The Ellis School as Athletic Director. Raised in Monroeville, she comes to Ellis from LaSalle University where, for four years, she served as Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach. At LaSalle, Ms. Scott worked directly with players, coordinating in-season and off-season workouts with strength and conditioning staff, and scheduling all non-conference play, gym time, and practices.
An inspirational leader and gifted athlete in her own right, Ms. Scott played Division I Women’s Basketball for the University of Pittsburgh from 2007 to 2011. She was co-captain for two years and led the team to its first back-to-back NCAA Sweet Sixteen appearances.

Highly organized and energetic, Ms. Scott is committed to establishing strong and positive relationships with our students, parents, coaches, and the entire Ellis community. At LaSalle, Ms. Scott served as the liaison between the women’s basketball office and the office of academic support. She also assisted in recruiting efforts, reviewing and breaking down film and contributing to scouting reports. Her experience as a Division I college athlete, and later as a college coach, will be significant assets for Ellis students, especially those who intend to play in college.

In her cover letter she told us that “bringing energy, passion, and excitement to the table every day is what I do best. I unconditionally love influencing the lives of athletes, and sharing my experiences to prepare and inspire young people.”

Please join us in welcoming Ms. Shayla Scott to The Ellis School.
