P.E. Teacher to Go for Gold as Part of USA Ball Hockey Women’s Masters Team

Lower School Physical Education Teacher Michelle Cook has been chosen as one of 20 members of the USA Ball Hockey Women’s Masters Team.
Ms. Cook, who also serves as a coach for Ellis’ Middle School field hockey, lacrosse, and JV basketball teams, was selected from among 150 elite competitors who tried out for the team. She will compete for a gold medal in the 2022 International Street and Ball Hockey Federation World Championships in the Czech Republic this September.

Speaking about this exciting athletic opportunity, Ms. Cook shared:

"Since I was five years old, I’ve been playing hockey. From playing at the Boys & Girls Club growing up to playing on so many adult league teams, hockey has always been an outlet for me and one of my greatest passions. This will, by far, be the most special opportunity the game has ever given me.

The competition was very strong at tryouts, which makes me feel even more honored and excited to wear the name of our country on my uniform. I can’t wait for the girls here at Ellis to once again see that women can accomplish anything they put their minds to. There are no limits, and I hope to be an example of that.

Now, I’m looking forward to meeting my teammates and starting our work together as we go for that gold medal in the Czech Republic!”

Please join us in congratulating Ms. Cook and cheering her on to victory alongside the rest of the Ellis community!
