Seniors Recognized by National Merit Scholarship Corporation
Eliana Bruemmer, Class of 2020, Maggie Ginter-Frankovitch, Class of 2020, and Lela Krackow, Class of 2020, have been recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation for their exceptional academic promise and outstanding performance on the PSAT/NMSQT exam administered by the College Board.
Lela has been named a National Merit Scholar semi-finalist which means she received one of the highest PSAT scores in Pennsylvania. She joins a group of 16,000 semi-finalists from across the country who are in contention to be named National Merit Scholar finalists. Eliana and Maggie have been named Commended Students for their scores which placed them in the top 50,000 entrants nationwide.
“Eliana, Maggie, and Lela have perpetually demonstrated their exceptional academic and personal talents across a variety of arenas during their time at Ellis, but it is also a wonderful moment for celebration when our students' achievements are recognized on the national stage,” shared Keith Bryner, Director of College Counseling. “These students are compelling changemakers in-training who deserve recognition for their hard work and success.”
The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition that began in 1955. High school students enter the National Merit Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test—a test which serves as an initial screen of approximately 1.6 million entrants each year—and by meeting published program entry and participation requirements.
