Ellis Sophomore Selected To Attend USRowing Camp
Audrey Lyda, Class of 2021, has been selected to attend the exclusive 2019 USRowing U18 High-Performance Camp where she will train, race, and ultimately compete against fellow elite rowers at the 2019 USRowing National Championships on Lake Harsha in Bethel, Ohio.
Audrey was chosen after traveling to Chicago in March to try out and will soon join a group of high-achieving and highly motivated young women at the camp. The goal of the camp is to identify athletes with potential early in their rowing careers and put them in an environment where they can learn, grow, and further their rowing skills.
As part of Three Rivers Rowing, Audrey Lyda, Class of 2021, and her partner, Angelia Mico, won the national title in the Women’s Lightweight Double at the US Rowing Junior National Championships earlier this month. The duo executed a flawless race and won the championship race by just .5 seconds. The premier rowing event in the United States, the US Rowing Junior National Championship brings together over 1,500 of the most elite young athletes from across the country.
