2:30–3:15 p.m Fine Arts Building | Open to all classes | Discover The Foundry What’s the buzz around makerspaces and what is Ellis doing to grow our programming? Come learn all about The Foundry, our modern workshop devoted to Maker Education and STEAM––science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. It is the only all-girls, student-run digital fabrication classroom in the region. Ellis faculty will demonstrate some of the fantastic tools available in The Foundry and discuss how they implement them in their courses. |

3:30–5:00 pm Auditorium | Open to all classes | Lecture on Pittsburgh’s Historic Bridges Embrace your love of learning with this educational and entertaining lecture on Pittsburgh’s first bridges with Richard Wertheimer, Ed.D. He will cover the first three bridges in Pittsburgh: 6th Street, Smithfield, and the PA Canal Aqueduct. With a fascinating story for each bridge, we’ll learn how they were integral to the growth of Pittsburgh, especially during the Industrial Revolution. |
