To maintain proper records and ensure the safety of our campers and staff, please notify The Ellis School Summer Programs Coordinator, Jenna Hayes, at (412) 266-8238 of any absences from camp. There are no credits or refunds due to illness or absence.
The Ellis School Summer Camps strive to empower and inspire all students through learning and fun in a structured and safe environment.
Behaviors that are not tolerated at The Ellis School:
Hitting, shoving, pushing, or physical violence
Verbal abuse, offensive language, or bullying
Lying or manipulating the truth
Stealing or taking things without asking
Possessing, using, or distributing drugs or alcohol
Bringing weapons of any kind to camp
Ignoring counselor or staff directions
In extreme cases, to ensure the safety of the camp community, the camp director(s) reserve the right to expel campers at their own discretion. In this situation, refunds will not be provided.
Please respect our hard-working staff by ensuring timeliness at drop-off and pick-up.
For the safety of all children, parents and guardians are not permitted to visit campers during the camp day. If an emergency arises and you must contact your child(ren) please contact our camp office so we can immediately assist you.
Please bring your child's labeled medications on the first day of camp with specific times and doses. Any child that has not attended Ellis this year or a current student with a new prescription will need a note from their doctor so that the medication can be administered by the nurse.
Only parents and guardians may bring medications to camp. Our nurse can only accept labeled prescription medicines in original containers and will distribute during the day as required. For the well-being of all children, please do not use camp as a time to transition a camper off of medications.
Keep children home from camp when they are ill and/or pick them up if they become sick at camp. Campers must be 24 hours fever-free before they can return to camp.
Drop-ins for after-care are also available. Drop-ins will be billed separately.
After-care families arriving after 6:00 p.m. will incur an additional $25 late pick-up fee. Continued late pick-ups may also result in additional fees.
Regular camp arrival time is between 8:15 and 9:15 a.m., and regular dismissal time is between 3:00 and 3:10 p.m.
Note: Campers will not be admitted before 8:15 a.m.
The Camp Policies Consent Form and Publicity Consent Form found below are mandatory and must be completed as part of the camp registration process.
