The Ellis endowment—our savings and investment account—reflects the financial stability of the school. The income from our endowment provides vital support for faculty salaries, student financial aid, and general School operations. The policy of the Board of Trustees is to spend only 5.25 percent of the endowment’s value based on a three-year rolling average. By providing non-tuition operational dollars, the endowment provides tuition relief and is an important form of financial aid for every Ellis girl—even those who pay full tuition.
Thanks to our generous endowment donors and Ellisian Society members—and the savvy financial governance of our trustees—Ellis’ endowment is at the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) benchmark for fiscally strong schools.
Gifts to the Ellis endowment can be accepted at any time in accordance with our written guidelines that dictate naming opportunities and reporting practice.
