Students Recognized With National Scholastic Awards

Two Ellis Upper School students have been recognized with national medals in the Scholastic Writing Awards. Eleanor Barth Wu, Class of 2022, won a silver medal for her critical essay, “Cancel Culture and the Twitter Mob”, and Annika Ramani, Class of 2021, won a gold medal for her poem, “Stolen Fruit”.
Nearly 320,000 works were submitted to the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards from every state in the nation this year, and 2,900 were selected for national honors. With only about 1 percent of entries recognized with national awards, Eleanor and Annika’s recognition is a testimony to their individual creativity and talent as well as the unparalleled excellence of Ellis’ English program.
