Ellis Senior Makes 2019 PIAA Swimming Championships

Senior Bryn Luedde competed at the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) Swimming and Diving Championship. She first qualified for the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) Swimming and Diving Championship at the end of February. During WPIALs, Bryn placed fifth in the 100-yard freestyle and eighth in the 50-yard freestyle. She then advanced to the state tournament where the competed in both events.
“I was glad that I had the opportunity to swim at states again this year,” says Bryn “States is a really important and competitive meet, so there is definitely a lot of energy on deck which can be a little overwhelming when you are the only one from your school. I was really glad to have Aria Eppinger from Winchester Thurston also at the meet as a friend and teammate. Overall, it was a really encouraging experience for me because it reminded me of how many other students around Pennsylvania also love swimming and competing!”

Congratulations to Bryn for all of the hard work she put into this season!
