Teachers will glean the secrets to helping children re-discover the magnitude of wonder. With over 20 years of classroom experience, Julie has created and compiled dozens of kid tested and teacher-friendly activities linking science and children’s literature. She will share her techniques on how to use the story line of quality children’s literature to help teach the fundamental building blocks of any science curriculum. Her engaging collection of hands-on, developmentally appropriate activities will assist teachers in meeting the demands of core curricular standards while dazzling students with eye-popping demonstrations!  All participants will receive a take home science kit and a slime kit.

With 22 years of early childhood classroom experience and more than 25 years in the field of education , Julie brings an intriguing perspective to her presentations. An avid children’s literature enthusiast and an early childhood science specialist, Julie weaves her knowledge and sense of humor into a fun-filled learning experience. Julie holds a Masters degree in Teaching Leadership and was a contributing author to the Frog Street Press Pre-K Curriculum. Steve Spangler invited Julie join his teacher training team after seeing her in action and experiencing her unique approach to getting her kindergarten students to think like scientists.
