Keith Bryner Jr. named Director of College Counseling

Keith Bryner Jr. has joined The Ellis School as Director of College Counseling. Keith comes to Ellis with an extensive background in college admissions, having held Assistant Director of Admission positions at both Carnegie Mellon University and American University (Washington D.C.). His work experience also includes time spent in leadership roles in related professional organizations at the national, state and regional levels, and significant knowledge of application review and prospective student recruitment.
In this new role, Bryner says his goal is "to help families understand all of the options and create an island of calm amid the current hype and anxiety around college admissions."

A magna cum laude graduate of Allegheny College with a Master’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University, Keith has also completed a number of admission-specific professional development courses.

Already a member of the Ellis community - daughter Esther is in the first grade – Keith’s familiarity with The Ellis School and our students will help ensure success in this role.

With 90% of the senior class attending a "top choice" college, Ellis’ very personal approach to the college search works. Individual attention from teachers, small class sizes and a rigorous curriculum prepares, empowers and inspires each girl to find and embrace her best-fit college.

The Ellis School, founded in 1916, is Pittsburgh’s only age 3 to grade 12 all girls’ independent school.
