Dear Friends of Ellis,
It is my pleasure to report to you on the progress and achievements of The Ellis School during its 96th year and my third year as Head of School. We are pleased to share the results of last year’s fundraising efforts by our Development Office, the enthusiastic and tireless members of the Ellis Parents Association, and the Board of Trustees. Their efforts and your critical donations allow Ellis to continue to be a school where girls and young women are given the tools they need to be successful global citizens.
One of the cornerstones of our success is the partnership between Ellis parents and the School, as made evident by the dramatic increase in parent participation in the Ellis Fund from 46 to 60 percent. What’s more, grandparent participation nearly doubled. Our strength is also due in large part to our loyal alumnae. Another factor is the dedication of our Board of Trustees, whose Ellis Fund participation was 100 percent.
With the Ellis Fund exceeding its goal, this report documents another successful year for the Ellis community in its efforts to support the education of our students. Independent schools depend on your support to sustain a robust program in the best of times as well as in the current economic climate. The gifts to Ellis reported upon here are, in actuality, gifts to the girls who attend this outstanding school. On their behalf, it is my pleasure to say thank you.
Sincerely,
A. Randol Benedict
Head of School
